Just a quick one today, a little side table build I did for the wife when we needed a side table… but had absolutely no room for a side table.

So the brief was simple: super thin, built-in charging station, and some sneaky storage. Nothing fancy. For once, I actually built exactly what my wife wanted. Growth.

The design is basically a table that’s not really a table. Skinny enough to disappear into the room, useful enough to justify its existence. I did allow myself a tiny bit of fun with some subtle router details on the legs — nothing too flash, just enough to feel like I’d been involved.

Painted the whole thing white, mainly to disguise it. Camouflage for furniture. It does its job quietly, doesn’t take up space, and hasn’t been complained about once, which in maker terms is a huge success.
A table that’s not a table.
